On the subject of your pictures:

So yesterday I had an interesting conversation with someone about family portraits. They kept saying how they've wanted them done for a long time and just haven't gotten around to it, same for pictures of him and his mate. He was saying how he should save the money and do it. well in practice this sounds great but the cold truth of it is this, if you have to plan and save, 99% of the time you don't do it.

People always tell me "yeah I wanna get nice portraits done" and then when they actually go to do it they've missed a part of their child's life or them and there mate have physically changed and just aren't into it or lament over how they wish they remembered or had that memory of who and what they or the kids were.

The thing is that it's all about capturing "that" moment of a stage in ones life. There's nothing that irks me more than hearing someone bitch that they don't have good pictures of them with their child or as a couple hell doesn't really matter what the picture is of just grab that moment before it's too late. It's not like photography is something new and easy to over look.  People like me are here providing a service so you don't have to put much thought into it. just get all gussied up and come on in.

I'm providing a service that's far beyond sears portrait or quicky mall type photos and I manage to keep my costs competitive. lets face it, if you're going to do it, do it right. I know that if I wanted good shots of me and my son and I had a choice between quicky douche photos or a decent personal service I'd go for the latter. Missed times in your life are just that "missed" you can't get the toddler years back and when it comes to couple portraits, savor the moment. It's strange how good "fun" photos will always remind us of the god times even in the face of adversity.

So it all boils down to seizing the moment and just going for it. if those years and memories are that important then why not capture them now before you find yourself scratching your head and saying "shit, I wish we got juniors pictures when he was younger" those moments aren't replaceable so just do it. Savor the moment and retain those special times in good quality photographs in a friendly environment where "your" pictures are just as important to the photographer as they are to you.
